She will be speaking on “Uncovering the Secrets in Your Community and Family Photos: From Identification to AI.” Maureen will discuss how to follow the clues in your photos to identify who’s in them and the stories they are telling. She will also describe preserving originals, organizing digitized collections, resources and the tools of AI that are transforming photo research such as facial recognition, restoration, colorization and image analysis and where human expertise is still essential.
Using two case studies provided by the museum, she will illustrate recovering clues for historical photo identification.
