Friends of Lakeview Cemeteries in Patchogue (Suffolk County) will host a Community Cleanup at the cemeteries on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 10 a.m.
Volunteers are need for weeding, weed-whacking, removing invasive plants, cleaning up leaves, litter and brush. All ages are welcome.
Wear gloves and work shoes. Bring tools if you can or use ours!
In addition, headstone cleaning will take place on Wednesdays and Thursday mornings, weather permitting. Trained volunteers clean headstones using techniques that clean the stones without damaging them. Learn these methods and help us with hundreds of headstones that need to be done.
