Two NYPL branches to offer in-person genealogy programs

The Baychester Library branch of the New York Public Library, located in the Bronx, will be offering two genealogy programs at the library on Thursday, Augst 3, 2023, 1 – 2 PM and Thursday, August 17, 2023, 1 – 2 PM.

The New York Public Library has a great deal of resources available to its users that assist in the study of genealogy and Baychester will now be hosting a class twice monthly to show its patrons how to utilize them.
The first class of the month will go over how to access and use databases, where one can find the necessary resources, etc. The second class will be less of a lecture and instead will function as an open lab where patrons can conduct their genealogical research with assistance from the teacher.

In addition the Seward Park branch of the New York Public Library, located in Manhattan, will be offering a Genealogy Hour at the library on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 2 p.m. and on Friday, August 25 at 2 p.m.

Stop by during this hour and use databases such as Ancestry Library Edition and FamilySearch to help find records of your ancestors! Feel free to bring documents/family records to assist with your search,
