Saratoga Springs cemetery to be subject of two programs

The Saratoga Springs History Museum will offer two programs about Greenridge Cemetery in July and September.

On Thursday, July 27, from 7-8:30 p.m.  there will be a lecture on the many symbols found on the gravestones, monuments and mausoleums located in historic Greenridge Cemetery.  The cemetery’s rich history and early burial, mourning and funeral customs will also be featured.

On Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, there will be a walking tour of notable gravesites and a discussion of the history of the many symbols found on the gravestones, monuments and mausoleums in Greenridge Cemetery. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours and is limited to 25 participants. This tour is not wheelchair accessible.

Meet at the Sackett Gate entrance on Lincoln Avenue. RAIN DATE: Saturday, Sept. 23.
