Palantines to America workshop set for June 4

The New York Chapter of Palatines to America will host a hybrid seminar on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Germantown Library and on Zoom.

The focus will be on the Henry Z. Jones Palatine Research Center.  There will be a talk by Henry Jones and Thomas Shannon, Town Historian of Germantown, about specifics of the collection and plans for making it accessible.

There will also be a lecture on the Palatine Germans who are buried at the Cheviot, First Reformed and First Lutheran cemeteries located in the early Palatine settlements of Germantown.  Weather permitting, a gravestone cleaning workshop will also take place.

The day will begin at 10 a.m. with a membership meeting, then the first lecture will be at 10:30 a.m. and the second lecture at 1:30 p.m.

The event is free but a $20 donation is suggested. Zoom registrants will receive an email with the link a few days prior to the event.

Registration is needed by Wednesday, May 25. For more information, contact palamny@gmail.com
