The Italian Genealogical Society will present its 2026 bi-annual virtual conference, “Italian Life, Culture, and Traditions,” on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17 and 18, 2026.
The conference will have 40 unique lectures on a wide variety of topics related to Italian genealogy, DNA, social & cultural history, and best research practices. Attendees can access all lectures for 3 months after the conference ends.
- 10 livestreaming lectures (five on Sat. five on Sun.), which will be recorded.
- 20 early access pre-recorded lectures
- 10 additional lectures (available on October 17)
There will be two keynote speakers: Victoria Calabrese, Ph.D. who opens the conference with her lecture on “Death and its Aftermath: The Traditions and Beliefs of Our Ancestors” and Sunday’s keynote speaker, Kate Penny Howard, M.Div., brings the conference to a close with her lecture, “The Stories they Told: Memory and Italian Families.”
Starting Oct. 3, all who register can access 20 pre-recorded lectures. Then, on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18 attendees who have watched at least four videos can join two breakout rooms each day.
Early bird registration opens September 9 and ends October 2 at 11:59 pm ET. The cost is: $69 members ($75 with fees) and $89 non-members ($96 with fees). General registration runs October 3 to October 18 (9am). The cost is: $79 members ($85 with fees) or $99 for non members ($106 with fees).
