The Oneida County History Center, located in Utica, will offer a genealogy workshop, “Transatlantic Travel and Your Ancestors’ Routes in the 19th Century,” on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. This is an in person program.
The workshop will consider research strategies to trace the specific paths and methods families used during then after their immigration to the United States. How did our ancestors book their passage from their home country and reach the port of departure? What was it actually like to travel on a merchant ship? Discover how they managed to get here and the methods of transportation used from 1817 up to the early 1900s.
The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. To register, go to: https://oneidacountyhistory.org/genealogy-workshop-2026
