The Port Jervis Free Library (Orange County) will present a Genealogy Workshop on Wednesday, August 20 at 2 p.m. A discussion between those looking into their family tree, as well as hands on help using Ancestry.com as a resource, and tips and guidance from the president of the Minisink Historical Society. Onondaga County Public Libraries will present “Mining for Genealogical Treasures in the Internet Archive” on Friday, August 22 at 10 a.m. The Internet Archive is not just the Wayback Machine! Steele Memorial Library (Chemung County) will have a Genealogy Club meeting on Saturday, August 23. The purpose of the club is to share information on records and approaches for starting or extending participants’ genealogical research. The New City Library (Orange County) will present “Using FultonHistory.com” on Tuesday, August 26 at 10 a.m. FultonHistory.com, or Old Fulton NY Postcards, is a free, historic newspaper website that contains archives of over 50 million pages of microfilmed newspaper images (mostly New York State newspapers, along with collections from other states and Canada).
