The Town of Jewett historian (Greene County) Elaine Warfield is seeking the public’s assistance with historical news, images and stories related to the town.
Also sought are verbal stories and remembrances passed down through families. Whether you grew up in the town or are in possession of Jewett-related information, it can help to fill out a book series that is currently underway.
The first book in the Jewett history series is now available, “Jewett, New York Cemeteries.” The books contains information on all 13 researched cemeteries in the town plus private burial sites and forgotten burial sites, with maps and GPS coordinates. There is an index o of burial names and information on grave markers.
The book is available from the town historian’s office at 518-589-6229. The cost is $13.99 plus shipping.
