Volunteer training set for NYC genealogy digitization center

The New York Genealogical & Biographical Society will host a New York City Volunteer Orientation in the digitization center on Thursday, July 10 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at 36 W. 44th Street in Manhattan.

Volunteers will be provided training in scanning, indexing, and editing. Orientations start promptly at 12 p.m. and take approximately an hour; an additional thirty minutes is reserved for questions and practicing with the equipment.

Volunteers who demonstrate ease and comfort with the technology and a desire to return will be invited to sign up for future volunteer spots.
