Buffalo Family History Day to take place Saturday

On Saturday, May 24 the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library will host its 3rd annual Family History Day. It will take place in the Grosvenor Room.

1:00-3:00 pm – Meet Local Genealogical and Cultural Heritage Organizations

Chat with representatives from the Western New York Genealogical Society, the Polish Genealogical Society of Western New York, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Iroquois Genealogy Society, and the Centro Culturale Italiana di Buffalo and the Buffalo Genealogical Society of the African Diaspora

1:00-1:30 pm – Digitize New York with Ryan Gleason

Learn about the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society’s efforts to digitize items for historical heritage organizations

1:45-2:30 pm – In the Footsteps of Ely S. Parker: A Family Journey into Seneca History

Learn about the presenter’s ancestor Ely Parker, a Tonawanda Seneca and the highest-ranking Native American in the Union Army, who served as Ulysses S. Grant’s adjutant at Appomattox

2:45- 3:15 pm – Ask the Genealogist
