New York museum to host exhibit on rural cemetery movement

The Genesee Country Village and Museum is hosting a new exhibit “Everybody’s Going to Be There:  American Rural Cemetery Movement.”

The exhibit will present a wide variety of art, maps, memorial art, mourning jewelry, and cemetery tourism ephemera of the 19th century.

Several programs will be given in the next three months regarding  cemetery research and cemeteries in New York.

Saturday, May 18 – “Gravestone Guy” Dave Bloom will give a presentation

Saturday, May 25 – Rochester Genealogical Society will give a presentation about the website FindAGrave.com

Saturday, June 29 – A member of Friends of the Mount Hope Cemetery will give a presentation

Saturday, July 6 –  A representative of Forest Lawn Cemetery will give a presentation
