NY Polish language newspaper to be digitized

The Polish Genealogical Society of New York was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Louis Skalny Foundation to digitize editions of the Dziennik dia Wszystkich, a Polish-language newspaper that was published in Buffalo from 1911 to 1957.

The focus of the project is to scan and digitize about 57,000 pages from 1941-48, 1950-52 and 1957. The newspaper contains birth, marriage and death notices, information on local businesses and churches and other aspects of social life in the Polish community in Buffalo.

The digitization is in collaboration with the Polish Museum of America in Chicago which holds the newspaper microfilm.

A fundraising campaign is in progress to raise the additional $13,206 to complete the project. For more information, go to: https://pgsnys.online/dziennik-digitization
